That's a 7th overall from last year who is a very high end C prospect
That's the 8th overall from the upcoming draft
That's a late 1st round pick from 2017 who as a RHD and still just 21 has already played over 100 NHL games and looked good playing 17-18 minutes per night.
Maybe I'm out to lunch, but I figure that's a stellar return. Yes, it weakens the roster immediately, but it's a futures package so that's not a surprise. Maybe you can get the Sabres to add another piece like Mittelstadt.

I followed up the return clarifying that it is the wrong type of trade this team needs to be making. I don’t have near the same opinion as you do on Jokiharju. 17-18 minutes on a terrible team not the most enticing.
Monahan was a 6th pick with 7 22+ goal seasons which includes 3 30+ and one season of 82pts. Hanifin has multiple 30pt seasons and been in the league since he was 18.
At the end of the day I don’t see how that trade makes sense unless they blow the team up which we know won’t happen.
