Watching a lot of draft kings analysis it seems there's some beauty in that. I was amazed at how many players are amazing golfers, just consistent and really good at every aspect, but can't finish top 5 or win because they simply can't elevate any aspect of their game on a special weekend. They're incredible at maximizing their skills and turning it into consistency.

Then there's guys that you can't really bank in draft kings or betting sites, but they will taste victory because they can suddenly put something together that is better than the sum of their regular skills.

Which golfer would you rather be? The many middling, excellent golfers who don't win on the PGA tour or someone who often misses cuts, has blow ups and flame out rounds, but gets to taste victory a few times in his career?
I'd say it depends. If you're good enough to win at least once every couple years, then that keeps your card and gets you into majors. But if you can't do that and are in and out of the top 125 like Hughes has been, then that seems like a pretty stressful life and a 2nd and 3rd every year with a bunch of missed cuts isn't getting you into any majors.
