Like I mentioned earlier, it makes moving Gaurdeau an super easy pill to swallow instead of people gnashing their teeth worried they won't find a replacement. Plus the Hall thing on top of all that.

I think if you land Laf and sign Hall you move Tkachuk to RW, since he's played there a bit already.
Obviously dealing Gaudreau is something you have to do at that point as it helps you retool on the fly and alleviates the concern of resigning. And as a bonus it opens up the door a bit more for smaller skilled guys like Phillips and Pelletier to step in.
