That is completely counter to how I see it. Who cares if you help another team? That’s a byproduct of moving UFAs at the deadline or before. That team gets a decent piece for the playoffs and you get something instead of nothing.
Of course, what do I know. Sabres haven’t exactly lit up the league under my direction.
