I see on HF they link a Friedman article that states the cap will be flat for the next 3 years.

I think this could definitely benefit the Flames. Firstly if Taylor Hall is looking to sign here and wants to win he is likely looking at a contract closer to $8M per than $10M per.

I also think the value of Gaudreau goes up in a trade as he has a phenomenal cap hit and I think even if they wait a year to deal him Treliving can still get a solid return due to the next 3 years being tight for everyone
