I think there is a slight difference, although in the end that difference may not make much of a difference.
I think Johnny wants to win very badly. But I also don't think he has the great ability to play through the playoff toughness and excel at that level. It's not from a lack of desire, but perhaps not having the physical (and perhaps mental) toughness to succeed when the going gets really tough. But since he has the desire, the ability to do so may come with experience.
With Hamilton, I'm not sure if he really cares if he wins or loses. It's likely to never change.
