Last time the Flames dealt their stars for maybes they ultimately wound up with the following assets:

- Reto Berra, dealt for the Hunter Smith pick
- Mark Cundari
- the Emile Poirier pick
- Kenny Agostino
- Ben Hanowski
- the Morgan Klimchuk pick

Zero NHL players. ZERO. This is not the norm for most teams.

The Flames absolutely have to come out of a Johnny trade with at least one surefire NHL player. Ideally many.
