I was really tempted to vote Tanguay over Tkachuk myself, so I don't think it's a stretch at all. People forget, but Tanguay was an elite passer and playmaker, and even became a pretty good penalty killer by the end. He didn't add much else though, so I see the appeal of Tkachuk over him who can do a little bit of everything. Plus, Tkachuk seems to be a strong leader and positive locker room presence, along with being a unique agitator on the ice.
Intangibles put Tkachuk over Tanguay for me, but it was close.
