Doom Eternal is such a fantastic game but the jump puzzles take you completely out of the fun zone into frustration. I can't count how many times I've found an elusive 1up only to lose it on some frustrating die and repeat jump puzzles. I can only assume developers throw this stuff in as filler to prolong the game because it's simply not a fun game mechanic.

Ya with all the platforming stuff Fallen Order felt more like a mashup of Tomb Raider and Dark Souls than it did a Jedi Knight game. I was looking forward to fighting through waves of stormtroopers and sith, not space slugs and mountain goats. And there's nothing that makes the lightsaber in that game actually feel like a lightsaber, it might as well be a regular sword with the damage you do and very one-note combat
I enjoyed Doom Eternal a lot more, since the combat is much more satisfying and the controls responsive enough for the platforming segments. I do like Doom 2016 more though, they balanced the combat and exploration better in that one, and there were no obnoxious enemies like the marauder
