Yeah, but Architects are notorious at lying (maybe it's just under estimating) about the actual prices to acquire things. This will work in budget X...than it goes for Pricing and the market is 30% more.

Yes, I'm a bitter guy who has worked thru a lot of these Institutional style projects, and there will be a complete eff up of Design somewhere that leaves them scrambling for money to compensate for that, and chances are it will be scaled back to something that costs less.

If they have half a brain about them....they'll let the design team finish their work, do all of the virtual models by every trade, assess the problems...than begin Construction. They might spend an extra 6 months before they see anything happen at site, but the time at site would easily come down by that amount. Seems like most Construction owners are so antsy about getting shovels in the Ground...but than their site spends so much time with people getting nothing done which is where costs add up.
