For those that don't know Prince Buster was a huge figure in Jamaican music, Ska to Rocksteady in the early to mid sixties, he was massively influential to the Two Tone Ska revival in the UK in the 70's, the Specials and Madness but he also instrumental in growing Ska into Rocksteady moving away from strict rythm into a more melodic soulful sound that became the basis for Reggae, if you listen to the video below bear in mind this was recorded in 1967, the bass and drums are huge, a template for what Reggae would become in 4 or 5 years
