It sounds like one side is saying the cause is asphyxiation while the other is saying the cause was the heart stopping (cardiac arrest) with "neck compression" (a nice way of saying asphyxiation I suppose) being a contributing factor.
It seems like the state medical examiner is trying to complicate things.
