Going by the FDA no maggots allowed in canned tomato sauce, however canned tomatoes are allowed 2 maggots per 500 grams. Canned mushrooms are allowed 20 maggots of any size per 100 grams. That's enough maggots to ensure I stick with fresh as much as possible.
