One thing that often goes unmentioned in these debates is the display. The quality of the Mac display is IMO (as a person in an industry where image quality is paramount) unmatched by virtually any other monitor out there.

Maybe I am biased (and i am) but personally I think getting an Imac with that amazing level of display-quality, in such a small compact package, for around a grand is a great deal.
