I lived in Texas for a year, and I will say that I've never met better people, I really loved living there, and no not because I was a gun nut. There was a real individual toughness and non nonsense no bullshyte approach that I respected and see too little of in Canada.

The Texan's that I lived with, worked with, went to school with, partied with, drank with and had late night long drunken conversations with are still some of my favorite people and I've kept in touch with them for a long period of time.

When I spent time in New York and spent time talking to people on the Island and this was after 9/11, they were friendly and funny and hospitable.

People have this caricature of American's based on opinions created around the extremes of their society.

I will say one thing, I've met a lot more honest American's then honest Canadians.
