UNIONDALE — Is it time for another Islanders dynasty? TSN analysts Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger, Jeff O'Neill, and Jamie McLennan all agree: Lord Stanley should be searching for a new condo in Nassau County.
"TheScorpion has assembled an incredible roster," said Dreger on TSN's Tuesday power rankings show. "With William Karlsson, Tyler Johnson, Eric Staal, Lars Eller, and Nick Bonino, the Islanders have the league's best assortment of centres and it's not even close."
Trailing the Islanders in the panel's rankings were the Nashville Predators, the Dallas Stars, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Ottawa Senators.
But four of the five TSN panelists agreed: the Islanders are at the top.
"Once they figure out their goaltending, they'll be unstoppable," said McKenzie. "Their forward group is incomparable and Marcus Pettersson is a star on the back-end. I think they could score 300 goals this year."
The one dissenting opinion came from TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button, whose ballot was later stricken from the record once it was revealed that he had accepted $100 in under-the-table payments from Jiri Hrdina.
Ranking at the rear were the Minnesota Wild, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins.
