So, what if the rubber hits the road and in order to save the league we have to ax a few teams.

BC, Edmonton, Calgary in the west; Winnipeg, Hamilton and Ottawa in the east. Have a 4 or 5 round dispersal draft for Montreal and Toronto players, and the rest automatically become property of Ottawa and Hamilton, respectively (not that Hamilton needs the help, but due to geography it might make sense not to displace players too far).

Could the CFL work as a 6-league team? 12 game regular season (play your division three times, the other division twice), and then everyone makes the playoffs (division winner gets a bye and hosts the division final)?

Just spitballing… if the CFL is serious about "paying back" any relief funds, they can't have 25% of their franchises bleeding out tens of millions each year...

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot about Saskatchewan. Okay, maybe an eight team league. Let Toronto and Montreal combine teams or something...
