A June draft in this scenario will be an epic fail. Most of the appeal of the draft is not even the actual draft, it is the trades. Teams have stockpiled picks to move some of them to add to their roster. The only way a June draft works for me is if trades are allowed and players traded can join their new team members when the season resumes. I know this defeats the purpose of the trade deadline but this is an exceptional circumstance where everything has changed anyhow. It would also generate the attention the NHL is looking for leading up to the draft. Either allow trades for the draft or postpone it until after the season resumes if it actually does. Nothing else makes sense.
