Default Bionic arm helps regain sense of touch

A new technique allows patients with a prosthetic arm to feel its movements as if it were a real limb, researchers say.
Currently, most prosthetics are not linked to muscles or connected to the nerves in the amputated area. Only a single motion can be controlled at a time, so movements of a prosthetic elbow, wrist and hand or hook have to be done in slow, awkward steps.

This is quite amazing. I actual watched the news footage on the guy. They attached the nerves from his chest and it allows him to move the arm and the hand. The guy that I saw had like a robot hand not a human hand. He was able to open and close the claws and he could actually rotate the claw circular 360 degrees. It is really cool.

It won't be to long before they graft skin over the prosthetic limb.
