No one said it is not unheard of. My point is that the Flames control where Yelesin plays next season.
If they want him in NA, they have the power to keep him here. Would they keep a player in a situation he doesn't want to be? Doubtful but they could. If Yelesin wants to go back to the KHL, the Flames are the gatekeepers.
