I too was torn between the two Matt's. Lombardi was a better player at his peak, however the length of tenure and the respect young players have for Stajan as a person and for his go ahead goal to win the 1st round series in 2015, I had to go with Stajan.

Unfortunate how it played out for Lombardi. One of my favorite players from the 2000s era Flames. Had he played in the 3rd and 4th rounds in 2004, he could have been the difference between an extra goal in games 6 or 7 of the SCF or he could have been en even better player in the back half of the decade to the point he wasn't traded for Jokinen. He could have had the career in Calgary that would have made him an easy choice above Stajan.
