This one is weird. It's like nobody wanted to touch this number for the entire era of the 80s. Was it cursed?
Yawney put together a few solid years of defense under this number, but his game quickly declined during his time in Calgary.
Marty Mcinnis had one really solid year, but then injuries derailed him.
Dubinsky was one of the many nameless warm bodies this team employed in the late 90s (AKA the dark times)
I hate pouty Chris Drury with the power of a thousand suns. Next.
Lombardi had potential to be a good two-way center with speed, but he never lived up to the hype. IIRC, Derian Hatcher single-handedly derailed his career with a cheap hit in the '04 playoffs. #### Hatcher. Looking back at Lombardi's numbers, they're surprisingly good, but he never moved the needle much on any team he played for. Good support player who could score. I had a soft spot for him.
Stajan never lived up to the 2nd line center billing, but he was such a big contributor in the little areas of the ice that matter and in the dressing room. He played nearly 10 full seasons for the Flames and was a key part of the bottom 6 during that time. Has the only playoff series clinching goal for the franchise in over 15 years.
This was close, but I gave Stajan the nod for tenure and intangibles.
p.s. James Neal's time with the Flames should be stricken from the records.
