Watched The Platform (original Spanish name El hoyo) on Netflix. I absolutely loved it, and I'm going to call it a future cult classic.
It's an allegorical somewhat surreal horror film essentially about trickle down economics / class society. It's extremely obvious about it's allegories, to a point where I found much of it darkly humorous, but I'm assuming people with different backgrounds and different political leanings will have very mixed reactions to it.
It's not nearly as weird as it sounds, it's a very straightforward film that flows well for the genre. I would strongly recommend people give it a watch just to see something unusual. It's also just a pretty decent horror flick.
I would also call it an absolute must see for film buffs. One of the more unusual films of recent years, and I'm pretty sure people will reference it in the future. I know I'm going to pester all my film buff friends until they see it.
