Goddam it. I didn't think this would be such a hard choice.
Magic Man (Nilsson) was such an incredible player, but he only played at 75% capacity most of the time. If he had Fleury's motor and drive, he would have been one of the best players to ever play in the NHL.
Fleury had personal demons that are obviously not all his fault (Graham James incident), but he has a tendency to put his foot in his mouth as well. Still, he's at the top of the list for all-time franchise players in several categories. He was also the only thing worth watching in the mid-90s, and it was really hard to see him get traded away.
I'm a big fan of both, but each had their warts. In the end, I had to go with Fleury, but it was close.
