It depends on the age of the player as of Sept 15 in the year of when they sign their contract.
18-21 year old get 3 year ELC
22-23 year old get 2 year ELC
24 year old get 1 year ELC.
Mackey turns 24 on Sept 12. Poolman turns 25 in December
