I have some European zone children's DVDs I'd like to somehow convert to North American formatting for easy watching on a PS4 or direct to smart TV.

I can watch the DVDs on my desktop no problem, but in a perfect world, I'd like to just have the DVDs copied onto the PS4 hard drive for ease of use. Flash drive also OK.

I don't have any blank DVDs, so a straight up copy is a non starter.

I'm asking for the best/easiest way of doing this. I tried the VLC player copying tool but I am a little confused on how to get it into a working format.

Any advice appreciated!
