Growing up, that was on a particular night of the week (Wednesdays?), and that was the night that this 12-year-old get left at home alone. My dad was teaching a night class or something, and my mum was taking my sister to air cadets.
It totally freaked me out, but I couldn't stop myself from watching it because I found it all so interesting. I remember turning all of the blinds shut and turning on all of the lights. Robert Stack was a perfect host/voice for the show as well.
