I feel like in this discussion people fail to grasp that others might have different preferences for what they like in people

I know a lot of people to whom Bernie is likable exactly because he seems like a bit of an awkward old geezer. It's a huge part of why he strikes me as quite genuine where every other Democratic candidate strikes me as incredibly unlikable and fake. And old.

My god everyone in US politics is so old... I mean, the average age of our MEPs is more than a decade less than that of US congressmen or senators. Which is bizarre considering the average US citizen is actually 4 years younger than the average Finn. Our oldest MEP is the same age as Trump, and while he's well respected, he's also widely considered too old to be a relevant option for any significant seats anymore.

I get that the young in the US are estranged from establishment politics, but why aren't the middle-aged voting for their generation? Weirdoes.
