Maybe Ward doesn’t have the credentials or experience, but he’s a smart guy and based on all the pre game interviews I’ve heard, he certainly has a deep understanding of the game and has the team prepared to know what to expect from the opponent.
Even if the Flames went after a legend like Joel Quenneville, would that make the team any better? Certainly hasn’t changed Florida’s fortunes who are about the same place as they’ve been for years.
