I *still* can't get over the fact that Ward didn't change goalies after the first two goals. Rittich did decently for most of the rest of the game but never looked comfortable. He was twitchy, swimming in his net a few times, lost the puck a few times...just not a great performance (also not the cause of the loss, but part of the symptoms). I get that the coaches wanted him to play, but doing so and then not hooking him just seems...pointless.
Which is how the Flames came out of this game.
And why does it take them SO long to get engaged in a difficult game?
