I like Talbot an am happy he is starting tonight's game, but where is this myth about his pattern of "solid play" coming from?

Talbot has been just okay. In my opinion, not perceptively much better than Rittich. It is good he is getting the start tonight and I hope he runs with it. But in the end neither of the Flames's goalie is making a particularly strong case to start in the playoffs right now. This is the month to make their mark.
