Thanks for the tip. I was putting up the depth chart prior to the moves.

I know we paid a 3rd for Gustafsson and a 4th for Forbort, but IMO, Forbort is the more complete player.

I would put both of them ahead of Valimaki and Kylington, simply due to age and experience, slotting both of them in after Hamonic. Obviously, the kids have more upside, and I fully expect Valimaki to become a stud. But he isn't there yet.

And the fact that you are suggesting 8th says a lot more about the Flames' depth than it does about the quality of Forbort. He is an every day NHLer, very much like Hamonic. Valimaki is knocking on the door of being an everyday NHLer, and so is Kylington (though he hasn't quite been able to get there yet).

That makes 8 NHL defensemen, which is a good thing. But calling Forbort an 8-9 is not at all reflective of who he is.
