Forbert is a big, strong defensive defenseman who apparently skates very well. He is exactly what the Flames need on that 3rd pairing.
As for Gustafson, I guess the Flames wanted some more offense from the back end. I imagine they will pair him for Forbert to offset his defensive deficiencies.
