At least it was an example of the replay system working...sort of.
Cam Ward only retired in this off-season (and did the 1 day contract thing with CAR). I wonder if CAR has asked him to start stretching? They've only got 44 contracts signed, so it wouldn't be crazy to throw him a league min. bonus laden contract (perhaps a handshake that he does a few ambassador things if he doesn't end up playing or something). It would at least be a good bluff to keep a tiny bit of leverage in trade talks
