Brodie is a good defensive defenseman who can score 30 points in a typical season. Barrie is a very poor defenceman and I think replacing Brodie with him would cost the Flames their playoff berth.
Barrie is a net negative player. Look at it on a scale from -10 to +10. His offensive abilities are a +5 but his defense is a -7. Brodie's offense is a -2 or -3 but his defense is a +7.

I’m not advocating one way or the other, but what is this -10 to +10 scale you are talking about? Is this based off anything or did you just make this up to try and prove your point?
