I think the big thing would be that an individual would be taking on the risk. If the match were calcelled/postponed, something fell through, or people flaked on their commitment to go, that's on someone's credit card. Probably Shermanator's.
But I think that there are ways to reduce the risk (deposits, pre-selling bus tickets, etc.)
