That said, I love deep lore, and this game has buckets of it. So maybe I enjoy it like a book. Hard to say, all I know is that it does not have the instant gratification you might expect from a video game, it is all about the slow burn, and the big pay off in the end.
I can see how someone could get overwhelmed though, lots to learn in the menue interface. I read an article online about what's important to know, and i'll just stick with that for now.
