Yea also reading your quote above I have to disagree with your not a useful player take. He’s throwing close to 3 hits per game for us and they are not of the small variety; points aside (has matched his 79 game total for goals last year in 59 games and is 3 assists back of his 14 last year) Lucic has clearly added an element this team has sorely been missing and it’s been more than noticeable. In fact the two games against Edmonton where this trait wasn’t noticeable speaks to the fact just how much of an impact Milan has had on this team.
I don’t miss the lazy fly by’s Neal constantly performed here, the controller disconnect on the back check, the pouting when playing on the third line, the pouting during the playoffs and the brutal misses on coverage and defensive responsibilities in game 4 that lead to him riding the press box in an elimination game.
I haven’t a doubt in my mind that Lucic provides more dividends and intangibles to this team than Neal had/would have provided us. If the whole team hadn’t taken a massive step backwards offensively this year I think it’s even more defined just how much Lucic provides to this team.
