Looks like I misread Mangiapanes age, I thought he'd be 25 at the time of the arbitration filing. That changes the calculus.
If a team can only file for arbitration once with an rfa, does anyone know what happens in a scenario where they elect arbitration with Mangiapane and he's awarded a 2 year deal that brings him to 26 with one year left as an RFA?
As far as I can tell the only major difference between a player elected arbitration and a team elected arbitration is that if the team files, they can't walk away from the awarded contract but if the player files, the team can walk or limit the term to a year if the award is over 3.5?
