Over half? You can only bury about a million bucks of a cap hit in the minors.
I think the Flames would be better-served to look for cheap replacements on the open market. Maybe give Yelesin a longer look or pursue guys like Forbort, Rutta, Heed, Fantenberg, LaDue, Claesson, Gravel, etc. I honestly don't think the talent level would be that different and it would free up space to pursue a top guy like Hall.
I'd rather have Hall and Fantenberg than Hamonic and, say, Namestnikov.
