Just watching interviews about the effects that this shut down of rail traffic is going to have and its devastating. chemicals that contribute to safe drinking water, pharmaceuticals and food stuffs are down to 2 or 3 days versus of supplies. Oil and propane stocks are going to hit emergency levels.
Lots of layoffs by companies that depend on just in time inventory are happening, and expect that even if the protests end that there are going to be shortages for a long time.
This is rapidly becoming a really serious situation beyond the whole "Oh suck it up that you're stuck in traffic".
The Federal Government needs to step in on this now, and Canadians are going to be not only frustrated but angry by any concessions given up.
As well, any concessions or lack of law enforcement is just going to encourage more and more of these protests because its successful. Expect environmental groups to double down on blockading construction on things like pipelines and facilities.
