Funny, I wonder if part of the reason the Flames have won rounds in two of the last 30 years is due to this mentality.

Seasons are precious things. And if you have the chance to swing a move that will put you over the top... you should do it.
These Flames are not predestined to lose in the first round no matter what roster they ice. If you can make a season-saving move that adds to the core in the future as well... you should do it! Sitting on your hands is such a Flames thing to do and it's a huge part of the reason why they haven't added an impact player mid-season in eight years!
