So while I’m arguing that accredited media should be able to report on what our government is doing, your rebuttal is that since anyone can use a camera we shouldn’t allow accredited media to report on certain things...cuz?

A free press is very important to maintaining any semblance of democracy. If you can’t figure out why it’s a very slippery slope to allow the government to arbitrarily dictate what we can and can’t be informed about then by all means go along with it, you’re not going to change my opinion on the matter. How exactly do you expect to hold the government or RCMP accountable if we’re not allowed to see what they’re doing? Should we just take their word for it that they are following the rules?
