Considering Tkachuk was pushing for 5 years I don’t think that was the right play either. He had the right Brodie trade at the draft but Kadri blocked it. Apparently Brodie to the Devils was close before the Subban deal presented itself.
If Gio, Valimaki, and Hamonic are all coming back I hope Brodie is still traded for help up front. I am very much against losing Brodie and Hamonic for nothing this summer or worse overpaying to keep them
