AMPAS is filled with old white men, like the tweet Scorp shared, who don’t watch half the movies and are all about being wooed for their vote. They have no interest in any diversity whatsoever.
Then they get embarrassed in the media when the noms are announced.
Finally the show is filled with the weird forced diversity. I say that because some, not all, of the celebrations of diversity tonight felt very awkward. Sometimes it even felt mean spirited.
I’m happy there was so much diversity in the show and a focus on the various filmmakers but I could do without all the patting themselves on the back. It makes everything seem so insincere. Like it’s condescending applause.

Oscar's are pretenders. Cannes is where real diversity is, has been for decades.
