I get that the rumour was Nurse wanted $8 mil per year but when does a player get exactly what the agent is claiming he is worth. A good GM talks that down to at least $7.5 for 8 years. If you don't like $7.5 mil cap hit then to me 7 years or 6 years should get the number to high 6's or 7. Even 5 years at 6.25 to 6.5 makes way more sense
Everything Ken Holland has done since becoming GM of the Oilers is all about now with 0 consideration for his cap situation in the near future. 0 long term core player moves. Kassian is the only long term deal to this point and for me this move is a move that at best he plays par with his contract but has potential to be a huge bust.
