So he signed a 2-yr for $3.2M/yr for the 2018-19 and 2019-20, and signs another 2-yr for $5.6M/yr until 2021.

Sounds to me like another bridge deal (even though he gets to UFA). Edmonton not willing to commit long term at a dollar value that Nurse wants.

$3.2M/year for Kassian
$5.6M/year for Nurse

So $8.8M/year for next year spent by the Oilers in the past month, with the biggest contracts of Sam Gagner ($3.15M), Mike Smith ($2M) coming off the books.

I don't see any big UFA signings coming this summer for the Oilers, so I guess it's another year of improvement from within.
