I think the opposite, frankly. It’s not a shot against Hanifin - he’s just young, really unpredictable and because he’s with Hamonic, they get matched against top offensive guys a lot, and he’s not been able to meet the challenge on a lot of nights. It’s Hamonic who gets left hanging when Hanifin loses position or gap, or gets fooled badly like against Edmonton. I just don’t think they are a well matched partnership. Brodie was pretty similar and on his less favoured side to boot (that snowed on the one play where he got walked tonight).
I don’t think there’s an easy answer because Kylington is out of the Hanifin/Brodie mould. It might be that Gio/Hamonic would be a better pairing and as Gio is less and less effective over time, it might not be a bad move. They play PK together so they’re not entirely unfamiliar.
