There are multiple issues. Spitting chiclets has mentioned on several episodes how Calgary’s “young stars” like to party, not in a negative manner, but more “good for them”.

Coaching is another. JG thrived under Hartley and his transition speed, he failed under GG and thrived again under Peters until he changed the strategy after the Colorado embarrassment. Ward is continuing on the same path, slower and more defensive play. JG wants run and gun and speed speed speed. He’s an awesome backchecker when he wants to.

And I’ve said it for a year, split JG and Monahan up. JG with Lindholm, Monahan with Tkachuk.

As for any off ice issues I won’t speculate, but IF he’s not taking care of himself it’s a problem. It’s s competitive now and everybody is so fit that you can’t get by being in “ok” shape.
