Newsflash - sometimes, just working harder isn't the answer, especially if you don't know what to work harder at.
And why hasn't the coaching staff developed a method to react when the opposition sends 2 or 3 forecheckers in. It is like they only have an answer for 1 forechecker. Anything more and we get the running around in circles technique. And to me, that is a sign they don't know what to do.
As much as I hate another coach, I have come to believe that instead of the "bright" new coach, I think Tre should be looking for a coach that can coach this team. And with the years of reporting to a head coach, Ward is struggling with in-game decisions.

Couldn't have said it more perfect.
If you can't win when you're at your worse, then you're not that good in the first place. I'm so sick and tired with coaches talking about desperation and working harder and putting on your work boots etc etc. On paper this is supposed to be a skilled team so why can't we deploy a system to utilize this. I can accept losing when you get outworked but when you get out-skilled, out-coached, that's a problem.
Also, Dube needs to get sent down to develop some more. Bring back Czarnik and let him play for his contract. Secondly, put Janko back in instead of Rieder.
Until this team has consistent success, I'll always be skeptical. Treliving keeps hanging his hat on the team being best in the conference last season which is short sighted because it's one season and there has not been a trend of that consistency. I'm baffled why a GM, a leader of a club doesn't look at data and trends. So many people on CP has said that the team has been trending downwards, so many have seen and lived with this mediocrity for years and aren't surprised. I get that we can forgive the deficiencies when you are winning, similar to Kipper masking how bad we were because of being a superman goalie. But something needs to be changed and it starts at the top.
